Hard to be happy when they blow an hour time frame arrival by a whole hour. We ended up unpacking half the pod before the movers even got there. Probably wasn’t their fault, but it what it is.
Only one of the two guys had experience moving. The other one was useless without the other guy instructing his every move and constantly bumped furniture on the door of the pod, the truck, and the pavement. They didn’t prioritize recovering the furniture as we had covered it.
All in all, they worked hard and were very efficient. They made up for their tardiness and packed the uhaul tight.

Efficient movers. Went the extra mile any time they could. My townhouse staircases are tight, but they worked hard to get the large and heavy furniture out. Friendly and fast, you will be satisfied if you choose them.

The helpers arrived on time and completed the job. Eager…. But lack experience or knowledge. Previously had moved all item in this move in a 6x12 trailer. With this team packing…. They were unable to fit it in the same size trailer. The movers didn’t look at all items to be loaded prior to loading, which left them shoving a metal bed frame in the trailer after it was loaded ??. Any experienced mover knows all large items are packed first. We will see if anything was damaged from the “shove job” required from poor planning. Insure your stuff if you hire them. ???????

We hired Smooth Move on very short notice, so we really appreciated them making it work with a packed schedule.
The guys were friendly and worked hard, but were unprepared for the move. We were thinking that they'd have a dolly or cart, as well as there being one less person than we'd requested, so in an attempt to still get the work done in the agreed time they took a bit too much in one trip on a few occasions. About half of our plates got broken in the move.
They were serviceable in a pinch, but would probably look elsewhere if you can plan ahead.

I only write a review when the service provided is truly exceptional and this was definitely the case here! Nabi and Ronald helped me move out of a second story walk up apartment efficiently, quickly, and economically! The Budget moving truck I hired for my move cancelled the night before and did not send a vehicle at all the next day, but these two gentleman were not fazed by this at all and helped my dad and I still make it happen. They are truly the only reason I was able to move out of my apartment and into my new place on time and without tearing my hair out. They were enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable, hardworking, kind, funny, and game changers. Thank you so much again and I am so glad you came through to help my dad and I. Total G.O.A.Ts! I will be recommending Smooth Move Movers LLC to friends, family, and coworkers and will specifically ask for these gentlemen again.

Our past experiences with HireAHelper have been great, but this time, it was an enormous let down, and we're very disappointed in the customer service as well.
We contracted for 4 helpers for 3 hours. 3 showed up and worked for 4 hours. Although, they provided 12 man-hours as contracted, three people working for 4 hours does not result in the same amount and quality of service that 4 men working for 3 hours would provide.
These 3 men were NOT at all respectful of our belongings, dropping boxes, overloading the hand-truck and then pulling hard/roughly down the staircase without regard of the contents in the boxes.
In the time that the crew spent "loading" the truck, they were compensating for their lack of planning. This is the first time in my 13 moves that I observed small items being loaded into the trailer first, and leaving large items such as Sofa (1 sofa 1 love seat), mattresses (1 single and 2 full beds), a ping pong table etc get loaded later over small items. The top of the truck was vastly empty. This 3 man crew were the WORST crew that we have come across. They were not able to load our belongings, that was estimated to need only 22 feet of trailer space, into a 28 feet trailer. Infact, we now have to rent a U-Haul to move our remaining belongings to our new home. It was like they showed up just to get paid for the day without any pride in their work, or safety of others.
With the way they attempted to stuff the truck with our belongings and the loading ramp included with the truck, we have a serious safety concern for when we open the door at destination. We are truly skeptical that the roll up door will even open, as the hinges were getting stuck on the contents, and they forced the door closed over the contents. They didn't put the provided bulk head up to deter shifting. With everything shifting towards the back upon acceleration, we are concerned that many of the heavy items loaded up high (without securing) at the back of the truck are going to fall on an unloader and seriously hurt them or destroy our belongings, or both.
PLEASE BE WARNED, DO NOT HIRE SMOOTH MOVE to help with your move.
In addition to the lack of professionalism of Smooth Move as the subcontractor, HireAHelper offered a standard reimbursement of 1 hr worth of labor, $135 in this case. You either take the reimbursement, or choose to file a claim against the crew, not both. And HireAHelper says they'll hand this off to their Claims department with no guarantees or any inkling of historically typical resolutions. They also mentioned that if loading into a freight trailer, that you waive all rights to filing claims for damages, regardless of the movers' professionalism or level of care which they handle your belongings.
