Good morning,
I’ve had to time to sleep on my horrible experience with subcontractor hired for my Pod load. Below are the highlights of yesterday.
The team lead arrived after the team, no one on the team provided any identification or paperwork.
The team lead who I was told is owner of Allstar movers was rude to me and his own team. At times he told his team to “STOP TALKING & ignore what she says I’m your BOSS!”
I was very clear that certain larger items needed to placed in the POD first to ensure they were moved first. This request was acknowledge with “yes ma’am”, later I was told not all of item would fit in the POD. I questioned why the largest items were not even moved out of the house, I was spoken to in a condescending tone that I just need to understand it wasn’t possible by the lead.
At this point there was an hour and a half left of the contract time, I requested they repack the pod with the major items leaving the smaller items. The lead was very rude and told me “NO!” while his team was willing to try. While the team lead called dispatch.
From there the situation escalated into yelling from all parties involved, which I am not proud. My emotions were high as it didn’t seem my items or myself were being treated with any respect. It seemed the team lead was more interested in leaving early without completing the contracted job.
One of his team was so uncomfortable with the situation just left with one hour left. Therefore I paid for 4 movers for 3 hours which is not what I received.
Later, after I spoke with customer service the lead told me he would only move the treadmill if I approved the move via email and he watch so he received his payment. This is form of coercion and very unethical.
The 3 members of the team moved the treadmill with no protection for my wall or the equipment. The team lead told me the treadmill must be the last item, despite basic physics. The screen and platform would be crushed by the force of the larger item again the door during acceleration. The team agreed with my concerns. Again the Lead told his team to “STOP TALKING AND ONLY LISTEN TO ME!” the team then voiced concerns about wait these are her belongings?? At that the last 2 left the job. They looked at me with an apology and hoped my day would get better.
The lead proceeded to follow them to the street where a heated conversation started.
Concerned for our safety we locked the pod and my house until they left 15 minutes later.
After the team left I found random screws around my house that had been removed from items but were not kept with the items or with any communication to me.
Hired Helps role in this was equally as unprofessional
The moving team claims they are not provided a list of the items to be moved, specifically the treadmill and piano which started the negative experience .
I called multiple times voicing concerns, several times I was disconnected without help. I wasted a hour trying to get help.
When I did finally speak to customer service there was ZERO desire to satisfy the customer, rather I was told I’m not the professional and I need accept the service provided.
I was also told he was instructing the team to leave despite on finishing the job or time for their safety. This is insulting, there were 4 men in my home with 2 petite women. We were the one hope felt uncomfortable.
I was told upper management would be reaching out today, that never happened.
After the experience ended I received an email indicating this mover DOES NOT carry liability insurance. Had I known I NEVER would have allowed this group in my home. This is a horrible risk for everyone involved. No business should ever sub contract to someone without insurance. Further not disclosing to the client until after the job is complete is deceptive at best.
All of this triggered me to do my own research on the moving company, All Star movers. According to the BBB they have a D- rating with complaints that match my experience. I plan to file another complaint against ALLSTAR.
This experience has taught me lessons about your company values. I should have looked into your company and asked more questions about the movers. I trusted the PODS vets out their partners, clearly I was very wrong. My request is to speak with someone in Upper Management, but it is clear to me once this company has been paid the relationship stops.
