I had the opportunity to hire them to load a POD, with zero experience of what to expect. They came on time, and ready to go. They didn't have the best English, but that didn't matter they simply got the job done and kicked ass. I tipped them heavy from their hard work and ingenuity in loading the POD as Tetris masters. I know this now because I had to order a U-haul truck for the remainder (not much) and decided to hire their help. It was a tad cheaper and I was already there and they were morons and careless. The difference was astonishing, one was driven and careful and quick and badass, the others the opposite. I didn't leave a bad review for the breaking things morons I just decided if you can't say anything nice axiom is my position here. Great guys driven and worth every penny! Patrick
I started with one 16-foot and one 8-foot container. I ended up needing two 16-foot and one 8-foot container. The POD web site estimating recommendations were too low for my situation. I should have done more homework. But PODs responded quickly with the changes. The drop off pick-up of containers on both ends of my move was on time and done by friendly professionals. POD containers roll up doors can be problematic if the items inside shift of the packers load too much near the door. The containers have tie points for straps, but they are too far inside once the load is done to reach. It requires the packers to plan ahead, but mine did not. The containers could use hinged doors instead of the roll up type to make this situation better. This is why my rating is only 4 stars.
While the PODS container was shipped just fine with no damages, they had a delay of 3 days and ended up charging me for a 2nd month of rent due to the delay on their part. There have been dozens of support calls and this issue is still unresolved as of writing this review (I have a balance for the 2nd month). There were a few other internal communication issues they had with picking up the container but ultimately it worked out. It was just dealing with support calls all the time and re-explaining the same thing over and over. The customer service people basically lie to you a lot to make you happy. Make sure you are physically there for pickup/dropoff, expect delays that incur more rent charges, and make sure to record all of the phone calls with support.
We had a nightmare experience with PODS. Twice they cancelled the delivery of our POD without even contacting us AND they don't know why it was cancelled. The customer service was terrible, with a difficult time reaching supervisors and no explanation. We were out several thousand dollars due to the fact that we couldn't live in the apartment for 2 weeks without our furniture so we had to stay with friends and family. I WILL NEVER USE PODS AGAIN.
