PODS® Reviews
Everyone I worked with from initial delivery of the POD, to pick-up and delivery to my destination were professional and knowledgeable. Answered all my questions and allayed any concerns I might have anticipated. Made changes easily and the whole experience was excellent. Love watching the unloading, loading, unloading and unloading process. Will definitely use PODs again for any future moves and recommend them wholeheartedly.
They failed to include enough pads or the lock that I paid for. My bigger beef is with the company that packed the POD. I assumed that POD affiliates might be superior to other labor contractors...not so much. The crammed everything in, but it was not properly protected and shifted badly during transportation leaving almost all of the furniture damaged. Would definitely not use Moving Staffers next time.
Great communication and customer service. They called before deliver, before pickup and drop off a new location. If, I had any changes they was able to accommodate in a timely manner. I t was a best choice for me considering I had to move out my current apartment before my new apartment was ready. I would definitely use PODS again for a move or temporally storage and recommend to family and friends.
I had a very good experience using PODS to transport my belongings a thousand miles. Every one of their support staff I talked to was helpful and friendly. The drivers were great at getting the containers into place and picking them up, and they were always within their given time window. My container made it from CA to CO without any issue, and I didn't find anything damaged in the trip.
PODS was a stress free and cheap way to move all of my family’s belongings. The container delivery allowed us to pack at our own pace, which works great with 2 young kids. Delivery options of off site storage or direct delivery to our new home gave us great flexibility. The drivers did a great job of maneuvering around tight parking situations. The cost was well below other options, and was so much better than renting a UHaul or hiring movers with their own truck that would have had a much tighter schedule for what our move needed. The space was just what we needed to move out a 3 bedroom house.
We moved more than 2200 miles with this pods, the first of two planned. The main advantage for us was the ability to pack and load the pods the way we wanted, and not leave it to movers to do what they do. But expensive. Spent over $6,000 Nevada to Florida. The pods container was old and the door got stuck after delivery to our house. It had to go back to the pods warehouse to get the door opened and then returned to the house. So we lost two days in the process, and possibly more if they don't pick up the empty container right away. Obviously the load shifted a lot and we wondered if it was a rough ride or something else. Customer service could be better and takes too long to get actions taken. It worked out okay in the end but delayed the entire move. Now thinking if we should use pods again for the second part of our move.
Couldn"d have worked out any better. Was going to get two pods Rep told me to stagger arrival days in case I didn"t need two. My movers got all my stuff into one pod unbeliveable. Had to change days a couple of times with no problems. everything arrived in perfect condition not a scratch. It couldnt have went any better.
I live in a city that won’t allow PODS to be left on the street and don’t have a driveway so I had to have their city service where the driver brings the container and waits while we load it. We had 4 hours to load and I had booked this about a month in advance. The driver was an hour late with nothing but excuses as to why. Then he missed the turn for my one way street and ended up backing down the street. Thankfully nothing was damaged but I’m very annoyed with the way this panned out. Thankfully the movers I hired to load the container were amazing and able to get everything loaded quickly.
I had a lukewarm experience with PODS. Communicating with the PODS team to figure out how to place my container was difficult. Their website has some very vague pictures that you select from to tell the PODS driver how to position the crate. However, the pictures are confusing but apparently very important to decide how to place the container. I was initially reassured that the driver would coordinate with me to figure out how to place it, but I never received a call. I decided to call on the day of my container delivery to find out that the local container delivery branch was not informed to call me. The PODS call center was condescending and blamed me for not informing them to have the driver call despite being told that I would be called when I initially placed the order. In addition, the call center kept falsely telling me that the driver would figure it out on his own by talking to the city (???) to figure out where to deliver the container. I ultimately was able to communicate with the driver, but the PODS was loaded in the opposite orientation of what I wanted which was not ideal but manageable. Apparently, the POD orientation cannot be switched once loaded on the truck so there was nothing the driver could do once he had arrived. It was not the PODS drivers' fault but rather the PODS company's fault. I know a bit better now how it works, but I did not have this much problem with UPack. PODS needs to improve their website to explain how the container will be placed or just allow the client to directly talk to the distribution center a few days prior. It would substantially ease anxiety with the entire process.
PODS kept in contact through texts and emails. The only 2 complaints I have are: 1.) The customer service girl who took my original order transcribed our zip code and all the PODS went to the wrong city, AND we were charged for a double delivery. We are in the process of disputing this. The other issue is waiting on hold for 45 minutes to an hour to reach customer service. Once I did get through, on the whole, they were very helpful. We have used PODS in the past, I would recommend them, but be prepared to wait on hold. (it's like calling Comcast, Verizon or ATT)
PODS customer service sucks, but I can't deny that the service they do offer is pretty good. The crews that dropped off and picked up our PODS were awesome and the friendliest people ever. Their customer service reps need to take notes from those guys. It may be expensive, but at least I knew my stuff would arrive in one piece because of the awesome drivers.
