A somewhat mixed experience though the people were very good and careful. They were an hour and a half late, explaining complications with payment from their previous move, but eventually gave me an accurate ETA. As movers they were smart, careful, kind and strategic as they moved things through narrow doorways and down and up stairs. They heard my husband was recovering from surgery and were careful to keep him from doing heavy lifting. We really appreciated it!

Mover's response:
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that our team was careful, strategic, and considerate during the move, especially with your husband's recovery in mind. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your understanding.

I want to start by saying that I give the movers themselves 5 stars! They handled our stuff with care, were very nice, and unloaded the truck quickly. We even had a very large, heavy, expensive item and they moved it with ease.

Our original plans changed when the movers we booked a month in advance canceled the day of, 30 minutes before they were supposed to arrive. So I booked this company for same-day service. This company reached out right away and said they'd arrive at 1pm but "might could get 2 guys," not the 3 we requested. That's OK. We understand. At 2pm we received a call that they'd be there at 330pm. We know that things happen and other moves may take longer than expected or you may get stuck in traffic, but there was no communication. It takes 30 seconds to call someone and say the movers will be late. Also, when I called to release payment, we discovered that the company had never actually accepted the job and were told that some companies do this so they can cancel last minute or just no-show without receiving negative reviews/feedback. If I had known this in advance, I would have booked a different company. Also, the guys only took 90 minutes to unload the truck because they're incredible, but the company has a "no refund for unused time" policy.

Mover's response:
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re thrilled to hear that our movers took great care of your belongings and provided excellent service. However, we apologize for the miscommunication and scheduling issues you experienced. We understand how frustrating delays and lack of updates can be, and we appreciate your patience. Our work on improving our communication and clarity is always ongoing. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

They accepted a short-notice job, which I very much appreciated. Movers were knowledgeable, efficient, communicated well throughout the process, and were respectful both of belongings and me. Everything was accomplished within the time I booked.

Mover's response:
We’re so glad we could assist on short notice and that you had a smooth experience. It’s great to hear the team was efficient, respectful, and communicated well. We truly appreciate your trust and look forward to helping you again in the future!

Called ahead, saved the day moving our companies office from 1 location to the new one. We're very concerned and followed up after we had an issue on of the furniture pieces. Would 100% hire them again due to their performance, professionalism, and management's follow through and explanation of steps.

Mover's response:
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that we could help with your office move and that you were satisfied with our service and follow-up.

While the crew was friendly and respectful, they showed up several hours late and I could tell some were inexperienced, leading to some wall damage and a broken dresser drawer. I received apologies and a discount, for which I'm appreciative. Again, friendly company, but needs to expand trained crew and grow admin/scheduling capacity.

Mover's response:
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear the crew was friendly and respectful, but we apologize for the delays and damages you experienced. We appreciate your understanding and will work on improving our training and scheduling to ensure a better experience in the future.

Overall this was a difficult experience. Our scheduled start time was between 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. They did not arrive until 3:30 and did not notify us that they would be late at all, so we had to reach out to them to try to find out what the situation was. Then every time I spoke with someone, the updated arrival time would change, consistently being pushed back. This made it hard to gauge when we could take smaller loads of belongings to the new place, so that was very frustrating. There was never an acknowledgement or apology that this wasn’t ok, or that it was out of the ordinary. Once they did arrive, they were quick to get started, but there was a strong smell of cigarettes that filled the apartment and about halfway through the appointment they claimed they got there an hour earlier than they actually did. This was resolved with text and phone call proof that that was not the case. I also noticed at least one piece of furniture that had been taken out and loaded, then brought back inside, and then loaded again. When I asked if something was wrong with the chair, it was denied that it ever happened. Finally, once our belongings arrived and we began setting things up in the new place, we noticed many things had been damaged. There is a mystery stain on one of our bookshelves, and many pieces of furniture with scratches and places where the wood has been gouged out. Some of these pieces are from IKEA and easily replaced, but some of them are handed down by family and so seeing those damaged has been upsetting. Hire a Helper did take 10% off for the tardiness, but after seeing so many damages, we are still disappointed overall and may have more discussions in the coming days about next steps. Looking back, we wish we would have spent a little more with a different company to avoid these issues. It’s a good lesson for next time, but a hard pill to swallow.

Mover's response:
We apologize for the deeply frustrating experience you had. We understand how disappointing it must be to face delays, miscommunication, and damages to your belongings. We take full responsibility for not meeting your expectations. The situation you described is certainly not reflective of the standard we aim to uphold.
