This company will rip you off and not show up for the work.
I booked with them on Tuesday, April6, 2021. They said they would arrive between 8am and 9am.
I called Hire a Helper at 9:18 am too see where they were. Customer service said the movers tried calling me and they text me stating they were running late.
I received no voice messages and the only text I received was at 7:03pm on Monday night stating the following message: This is your movers for tomorrow morning.ā
I was never notified they would be running late. Their customer service stated this was ok because they tried to get ahold of me. DID NOT!!
We rebooked for Wednesday, April 7, 2021 and they called me Tuesday night. I spoke with Ron with Prestige Movers. He confirmed will arrive Wednesday morning between 8 am and 9 am. I told him must be done by 12 Noon and he said they will be done and gone by then because they had another move scheduled in Ocala, FL after mine.
Long story short, the movers never showed up on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Never called me, never text me , never emailed me. Nothing!!
I called customer service and they could not reach the movers either. My card was still charged for the move and work was never done.
For your peace of mind, do not do business with Hire A Helper or Prestige Movers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very disappointing.
I read great reviews about them, hence I chose this company. But, unfortunately the services did not meet the expectation.
For starters, I got a phone call at 10pm the night before the move, to tell me they were having staffing issues and were not going to be able to come at the scheduled time (10:00M to 12:00pm). That time slot was confirmed upon reservation, and two days before the move I called again to re-confirm. I everything was confirmed!
I live in a high rise, therefore the elevator and loading bay were reserved for that particular time slot. Hence the importance to ensure their on time arrival.
I went to bed at 1:00am still not sure if they were going to be able to show up or not. Which made me panic, since we had a slot reserved with a freight trailer that afternoon to ship items out of state.
Finally, in the morning, around 9:20am I received a text that they could come. They arrived at 10:45am.
Sadly, one of the movers was extremely slow, dazed, and seemed to be out of it. Leaving most of the load to only one of them, trying to pick up the slack. This predicament delayed the loading process enormously.
Towards the end, almost close to the 2 hour mark, me and my friend ended up having to step in and rush all the rest of the items out of the apartment and carrying it ourselves towards the elevator / loading bay.
Finally, when I got downstairs to the bay, I realized a lot was still not loaded into the truck, and they were having trouble fitting the items in it.
By this time I had them inform me that we hit the 2 hour mark. But the truck was not fully loaded, they could not figure out how to make everything fit, which led me to have to leave a box spring and an office chair behind. Which is unacceptable. I had hopes to come back with the truck for a second trip, but my building would not allow me back, since the loading bay and freight elevator were then reserved for another resident.
I should make clear that I had mostly boxes to move. The only bulk items were a headboard, a mattress, a dresser, and a large flat screen tv. Therefore this should not have taken 2 hours to complete.
I ended up dismissing them at the 2 hours mark, due to being unsatisfied with the services provided thus far.
And even if I wanted to continue, they seemed pressed for time, since they had to be going to another move.
Had I known I would not have the job done well, or even completed, Iād certainly not hire their services.

You will receive a phone call or text message the day before the move. The team leader will contact you the day of the move to let you know the expected arrival time.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
We ask for customer to have all boxes packed and ready. If tools are needed to disassemble furniture, please let us know ahead of time.
