ABF UPack® Reviews
No stress move with this company. Great phone support. Trailer drop exactly as scheduled with a knowledgeable driver named Mike who gave us the best orientation to the process, the details of the trailer, suggestions - which I followed -about what to get to keep the contents safe and secure. Destination drop as planned. Defintely smooth process. No question I would use ABF again.
I love this way of moving across states. The company is easy to get a hold of. They were patient and flexible and the whole system is brilliant. We had a crisis when our housing fell through and UPACK was able to help us adjust and put our belongings into UPACK storage for a month. That was a major relief!! I highly recommend especially because our belonging arrived in great condition.
This was so smooth. They dropped off the trailer and we had three days to load it. Once we were done they picked it up, charged us only for the space we used, and brought it to us. Same on the unload side, we had three days to unload and then they picked it up. It was very convenient and cost effective.
ABF U-Pack worked very well for me. The trailer was in good condition; it had no problems on the road. Their customer service was superb throughout the move. The drop-off was on time. I expect the pick-up will also be on time. Booking was easy. I chose this company because of the cost. Other companies were quoting me at least $15,000 for my move. ABF U-Pack was able to do it for $4334! I would definitely use them again.
I used 16' of a 26' trailer to move from St. Petersburg, FL to St. Louis, MO. The trailer was dropped at the curb in front of my home. An interior bulkhead and 10' ramp were provided. I had 3 days to get everything loaded, the locked bulkhead in place and ready for pickup. Although they originally estimated 5-7 days for delivery based on optional pickups of other loads, mine was a direct ship and arrived in 4 business days. They do not drive on the weekends. There was only a couple of things cracked/broken, but you are responsible for breakage unless you purchase additional insurance which I did not.
Quite literally between $13,000 and $17,000 cheaper than other moving quotes. Dropped off and picked up on time. Not a thing damaged on the inside (just make sure you strap everything down with rachet straps and paracord). The flexibility to reserve X feet of space but can expand up to 28' was a huge relief.
Delivery was on time/ early for drop off. Guy was super helpful. Had trouble getting in touch with dispatch and asking questions when needed. Drop off was on time and again had to keep calling for concerns/ issues. Dispatch seemed irritated by the calls but we did not have any other choice to get in contact. We were also told our items would definitely fit in the container and we ran out of space.
We loved this mode of transportation for our move. We had estimates from places like North American and were quoted $15,000 to $19,000 to move our stuff. We paid under $5,000 for a 26 ft truck and they charge by the linear foot. You need to hire your loaders and unloaders but we still paid only half of what we were going to pay using the do-it-all companies. The only issue we had was that there were some holes in the roof and a few of our items got water damaged. I would check the truck over before excepting delivery. Also, we underestimated the space we would need and had to rent a 15ft Uhaul. That was on us.
ABF UPack was a great way to make our long-haul move from the NY to TX. Scheduling the trailer was simple, trailer dropoff and pick (both at departure and arrival locations) was very easy. The trailer arrived almost 5 days earlier than expected. I would highly recommend ABF UPack for those looking at a great moving service with very good rates.
The truck was extremely dirty when it was dropped off. There was black soot and pieces of broken wood throughout the whole interior. We had to clean it before loading our items and the items we loaded still ended up with black soot on exterior of our boxes, etc. The company did give a $100 credit for the vehicle being so dirty. Rest of process worked as advertised. I would have used a pod instead of trailer but when signing up I was advised that I would need at least 12' and we only really needed 7'. Drivers were helpful and courteous. Enjoyed being able to track vehicle and process & was kept well informed. Website helpful and informative.
This is my fourth move by container (second or third with ABF specifically) because moving by container continues to work for me: they match my budget, apartment size, and storage needs. ABF generally does a good job of streamlining everything, but this particular move less so. The terminal offices at departure and arrival really determine more than the employees in the call center and there just wasn't as much orientation to detail and efficient communication as in the past. Still, I would use ABF again because the system and cost match my needs and overall the staff are solid.
I was overall pretty satisfied with ABF UPack. I was moving from PA to TX and had paid an additional fee to have my stuff delivered by a certain day (due to my circumstances) and that worked out well. I did not wait until the day before to call and schedule pickup and drop-off though, in fact I called a few days before. I had told them I would like the trailer dropped off by 3pm as I had scheduled movers to help me unpack. I wasn't given a specific drop off time but they ended up dropping off at 12p. My stuff shifted a lot and I had one broken desk, but I know that's not their fault, it's how I packed. Ultimately, everything went well and both dispatchers and drivers in both PA with my pickup and TX with my drop off, super nice and understanding and got me all taken care of.
