This is the second time I have used Get Up and Go Movers to assist in a move. On both occasions the movers were on time and extremely courteous and professional. I have several heavy items and they moved these without any issue. Additionally, I lived on the third floor of a walk-up apartment building with very narrow stairs and they were both careful and extremely quick about moving my items from the apartment onto the moving truck. In fact they finished in less time that I had anticipated. The truck was packed expertly and nothing moved or was damaged on the 16 hour drive to my new home.
I had only one issue with the entire move and it was slight. Upon unloading the truck and putting together my furniture I found that my kitchen table had damage on its edge. Based on the type of damage I can only assume the table was put down (hard) on the concrete/asphalt before being loaded in the truck but I don't believe the two gentlemen were aware of the damage. If they were aware I believe they would have mentioned it as I found them to be very honest and trustworthy.
Ultimately I would use Get Up and Go Movers again in the future if I were living in the DC Metro Area. The gentlemen are responsible, kind and efficient. They work quickly and effectively. I give them two thumbs up! :)

Walter and Daniel were great--thanks, guys! They got everything moved quickly and efficiently and didn't blink an eye when I found out there was an unexpected set of stairs to bring stuff down at my new place on top of a long hallway. Despite me not getting furniture pads, my furniture was left unharmed--which is a lot better than the scratches I put on it during my previous move.
I'm going to buy my friend Sam a beer for recommending them to me. :-)

Our movers showed up right on time and I don't know what we would have done without them! We had kind of a complicated situation, emptying one truck, going to another apt. to load stuff to bring to the new place (in the apt. bldg. right next door), and then going back to the apt. and loading a truck with the remainder which was coming back with us. The two movers were very nice, worked quickly and efficiently and we actually finished 20 minutes early. I would definitely use them again and recommend them highly!

I was nervous about my first solo move, but was very happy with Get Up and Go Movers. Sam and Lucas were great to work with, very efficient, and even arrived early. Everything was well-packed and all of my belongings arrived at my destination unharmed. I would 100% recommend them to others and would use Get Up and Go movers again in the future if I ever find myself back in the area.

Knowing that the contact person was not the person I should have been communicating with the hour prior to beginning would have been extrememly helpful as my voice and text messages to the original contact went unanswered after being informed that the move would occur later than the designated time. Additionally, while the two employees were hard working and accommodating, they were not professional movers as evident by slight damage to furniture and walls in the home.

For the most part, these guys were ok. They were running late due to traffic, but overall polite, and worked the whole time. They even agreed to stay an extra hour to help. The only problem I had with them is they were helped us load our U-haul truck, but they just kind of threw stuff in there in no particular order which made it extremely to utilize the space efficiently. Items almost tumbled out of the truck once we reached our destination.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
I am typically on jobs during the day so it is easier for me to text new clients. If I don't hear back then I will give them a call as soon as I am available.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
I'd like to think we are fun and hard working bunch of guys. We enjoy this type of work and you'll notice that our attitude are mostly positive.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Make sure everything is packed and ready to go. Label every boxes and mark anything that is fragile. If there isn't plenty of street parking, reserve adequate space for moving truck or storage containers.
What types of moves have you handled?
We offer residential and commercial, for both local and long distance move.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Meeting new people and going to new places on a daily basis.
What training do you provide your crew members?
I have about 25 years experience in this industry and I personally train every crew members until I am confident they can go out on jobs without me.
