Very good company. We moved and stored until we were ready. The moving companies that we got quotes from were between 4 and 5 times the price! PODS has very good customer service, and everything went without a hitch. This created peace of mind along with very good service. The computer site is easy to use and effective. We could easily keep track of everything that was happening, step by step. PODS in combination with HELPS U MOVE was an extremely good choice for us. We would highly recommend.
So far everything has gone well, they were great with helping me figure out when to have pods delivered, where to place them and even the guy bringing it was awesome. I will say that their customer service representative, Victoria was not very understanding when I was upset that when I requested to have pods picked up before noon and the times given to me were 1115a-215p and 430p-730p. I had new people moving in at noon, she was basically "oh well, too bad...that's the time posted...and they have 110 deliveries to do" Why even give me the option to request an early time then pick latest time possible and cause me more stress??
Extremely bad experience! Their 1-800 number gives you different prices depending on whom you call, their constant stream of bills is confusing and very dubious - obviously for a purpose, their representatives have no knowledge about their own procedures: different calls with different representatives always brings different answers, supervisors are not available or completely ineffective, there is no email-address where you can send complaints to, snail mail complaints in writing to their headquarters are not answered - a good advise: stay away from this company!
Due to the gap between sale of our former house and purchase of our new one, this was a must. Pods made it simple and easy for us. They were flexible and friendly. They also have these contraptions that pick up the pods that look like something from Star Wars ;) This ensured that our items were not jostled or sliding around in the containers. Very cool. Highly recommend.
For my situation where there was a big gap delay moving, it saved a huge hassle and expense. I put things in the pod over a week or two outside my house, they stored it, then I hired helpers to unpack it in an afternoon. Without PODS I would have had to pack a truck, unpack to storage, pack another truck then unpack to my house and spend a lot more money with movers. use your own lock so it's pretty much fort knox, seems like it was climate controlled as advertised as nothing seemed affected by heat/humidity after 8 months. They can drop the pod in a precise spot - impressive to watch. Kind of amazing this hasn't been around a lot longer. Also I didn't stack boxes very well yet nothing fell over... seems like they're good with how they treat your stuff.
My POD was good, but the company seems pretty unprofessional - I'd get an email saying I owed money, but my online account showed paid in full. When I called to confirm this email wasn't some phishing scam, the customer service person couldn't find my reservation, so they gave up and started trying to create an entirely new reservation before I hung up.
We were happy with almost everything about our PODS experience. The only issue we had was with the pick-up time from our old home. The automated system called and informed me that they would be picking up between 12:45pm and 3:45pm. I was vacuuming the house before loading the vacuum into the PODS container and when I went outside to put it in at 11:30am, it was already gone.
