We contracted movers with M&M Moving Services LLC, through HireAHelper to move a studio apartment of furniture from one community to another within the Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area. The arrangement was for a 9am show with two movers to load up the apartment. On the day of our move, as I was picking up the truck, I received a call at 8am stating that one of the two movers that was going to help load the truck had broken his finger the night before. The other mover decided to go to another job over an hour away, with the intent to finish it up as soon as possible and then bring five movers to pack up the apartment when they were done.
We had made appointments for later that day so we were on a tight timeline. Faced with hours of delay, my wife and I ended up loading the entire truck ourselves. We were done at 11:15am, which is about the time I received another call stating that the movers were on their way. I initially wanted them to come to the original location, but then redirected them to the unloading location. They showed with three movers around 12:15pm, over three hours late from the contracted time. They spent about 30 minutes unloading the truck, because there were loaded items that were not offloaded because they were being donated.
I was charged for two hours, and while the movers did provide a 10% discount for being late, it was totally unacceptable that they did not have a better contingency plan in place resulting in a three hour delay. While it was a small move from apartment to apartment, M&M proved that they are unreliable. Bottom line, M&M Movers completed 50% of the contracted work and charged 90%. I regret using M&M Moving and will never call on them again.

Amazing movers! Fast, efficient, and able to use all soace of Pods with no problem. They were able to finish the job in two hours and helped with some packing. Great movers! Highly recommend them! All our things were handled with care!

This is my second experience . Hire a Helper proved to be an excellent interface for hiring moving labor help. Each time I was connected with M&M Moving Services LLC. This time I needed help to move several large pieces of furniture around the house. I hired two helpers for 2 hours. I got three.
There was some slippage in the agreed start time but Mikail kept in touch with me by phone so that I was not left wondering.
This team was headed by Mikail. The guys were very professional and careful with the walls and woodwork. Mikail and James worked especially hard to manage some tight maneuvers.
I definitely would use them again.

The movers were kind and considerate but they arrived late. They did call to advise they were running behind but then showed up 20-minutes after they advised they would. One of them was extremely respectful but the other one seemed to have a hard time making eye contact. When it came time to move a large couch upstairs, the one who wouldn't make eye contact told the other one he wasn't going to do it. Made for an awkward situation. His attitude was less than desirable. The other, more positive one, eventually persuaded him to give it a go. Unfortunately, it was too large and couldn't make it up the stairs. I felt terrible! But at least they tried! Also, the more positive one was very respectful and pointed out items marked "Fragile" that he found buried under boxes so he asked me to check them out to verify whether any damage had been done.

I would definitely use them again. The two gentlemen that came to help move were the perfect combination of personable and professional. They came with equipment to move the boxes and heavier items quickly. They kept moving and respected our two hour time limit that we had set. The job was completed on time. They showed up on time with a phone call about 10 minutes before arriving.

Yes, men were punctual and respectful. Each worked hard and did not dawdle. I was very impressed with the amount of furniture they moved in 2 hours. I will absolutely recommend M&M Moving Servkces as well as use them again for my own moving needs in the future.

M&M movers did an excellent job for us. We are from out of state and were somewhat skeptical about hiring a moving company on line. We were very happy with M&M movers. The movers were exactly on time and were professional, efficient and friendly. The move was relatively simple but there were a couple tricky items including lowering a college dorm bed in a very small space. The guys were more than willing to help us solve the complicated issues and were very nice about it. We would absolutely hire them again!

Systematic approach to complete tasks
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Disassemble beds, cribs, move everything possible from 2nd or third floor to the ground floor or closer to main entrance. Disconnect the washer and dryer and all electronics. Dismount TVs from walls and TV mounts.
What types of moves have you handled?
Commercial, residential, livestock, container, ships,trains, prep, load and unload. Livestock.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
The ability to complete a job knowing I did the best i could.
What training do you provide your crew members?
2 weeks. Week 1-Loading procedures, tie downs, mix, and straight loads, box, container, ship, and train. Claims. Week 2- Unload, packing, unpacking, wrapping and staging. Damage control. Customer expectation. transfer loads.
